Royalty

14 Apr

There is a fundamental truth about who I am that is sinking ever deeper into my heart and my mind and my soul: I AM A CHILD OF GOD, THE KING OF KINGS.

THIS MEANS I AM ROYALTY.

I AM A PRINCESS, y’all…

Because I have accepted Jesus Christ as my saviour, the One who made me right with God by having thrown on himself all of my darkness, all of my filth, all of my sin when he died on the Cross, I have been made a princess by being born again into a royal family…

The implications of this are MASSIVE!!!!!
My inheritance is the Kingdom of Heaven. I am an heir to the throne of God. I have been given all power and authority, along with the rest of my heavenly family, over the whole of creation. It’s not my own power, it’s my Daddy’s power which He has given to me. And I am like Him because He’s my Daddy. I have the mind of Jesus Christ, a sound mind.

This means I have been granted permission to heal, raise the dead, free people from demons, and do the things Jesus did – and greater ones still – because of His Holy Spirit living in me today.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” (John 14:12-14 NLT)

And when I live in the full knowledge of who I am in Christ, it releases power, the resurrection power of the Kingdom of heaven here on Earth.

In other words:
…”The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies…”(Isaiah 61:1, 2 NLT)

This is so life-changing and life-giving. Who wouldn’t want to be part of this?!

Being a Christian is SO MUCH MORE than going to church and praying and singing songs, it’s more than going to bible study meetings….adhering to rules and regulations.
…In fact it’s none of these things!!!
Oh we’ve got it so wrong…!!

Being a Christian is being blessed and highly favoured. it is being seated in the heavenly places and sharing dominion over the whole of creation with the Maker and Master of it all. It is living a free, victorious, powerful life and bringing others into that same life so that they too can share in the inheritance.

When you get it, this is glorious!!!

Not AGAIN?!

13 Apr

I seem to be making a habit of getting rushed into the a&e in the middle of the night these days…

This time, it’s kidney stones.
Apparently.

And by the way. Guys…? Let me just tell you one thing.
I’m reliably informed that this is the only pain you might ever get that will ever get remotely close to the pain us women experience in childbirth.
Just sayin’.
(The triage nurse told me)

So yes. I’m writing this from the comfort of my very own hospital room…. How did I manage that?! Told them upon admission that I had a dicy tummy – seemed to do the trick, as I’m now in my own private room with stupendous views over some of Torbay’s most beautiful landscape
in isolation.
I can faintly hear God giggling in the background, and saying “well, you did ask for a break didn’t you?!”
…I think that’s called a silver lining….

After two nights here on IV fluids and morphine, I’m hoping to get home in time to watch The Voice. Cos it really is the only talent show worth watching these days.

Over and out.

Lion Bites – My Glory Arises.

4 Apr

God has been saying these things to me the past few months.
And now He is confirming it again.
He makes All Things New.
And me, I am a new creation.
Praise Him!!!

“This is a new day; it is not like the days of old gone by. Forget the former things, forget the difficulties that have kept you barren and bound. Do not compare what you perceive to be your own inabilities against the magnitude of the mountains that you face. This is a new day and I am doing a new thing.

Look up into the heavens, look up with the eyes of your spirit and see what I am doing!

Look up and see: My Glory arises above you, it is ever so near. My Glory arises above you, so pull it down, pull it down!

Pull it down into your circumstances and the situations that you find yourself in. Pull it down into your relationships and see restoration. Pull it down and see hard hearts melting. Pull it down and see salvation. This is a new day and a new season.

Isaiah 60:1-5
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms. Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.”

Yes, yes, yes and AMEN…!

Mummy Wisdom on Mother’s Day

Here is a little collection of quotes which all have something to do with being a mum.
Oh – There are a few ridiculously sentimental (and some, funny) posters thrown in for good measure too.
None of them are my own.
Which is probably why they’re so good :)

It took me years to realise that every time I interrupted my mother to ask her to look at my homework, wash my clothes or find something that I’d lost, and she quietly laid aside whatever she was doing and gave me her full attention, she was displaying self-sacrifice and self-control of practically superhuman proportions.

Me? I’m Having A Day Off.

8 Mar

The pace has picked up quite a bit these past few weeks.

My involvement in the prayer and worship ministries at church has gone up one level, and I am slowly taking much more of an active role in those areas… this delights me, and thrills me and yet also humbles me because I am seeing God at work in my life and in people’s lives around me like NEVER before.

Outside of church and home life I am becoming more established as a classroom helper at this school, and hoping – no, asking (God…!) for some kind of job to come up there as soon as possible.

Unexpectedly I am also facing the prospect of returning to language teaching. This is not something I ever thought would happen but it seemed God had other ideas!
There are numerous language schools here in Torbay and as the milder weather arrives, hundreds of students from all over Europe and the Middle East (even the Far East) start flocking to our little part of the UK in order to learn and improve their English and experience life here in all its glamour and sophistication.

And so, just like that, an opportunity has come up for me to try my hand at teaching conversational English to groups of (mostly German) students who are starting out in their adult life (…in other words they are no longer snotty teenagers – which is the age group I have vowed never to teach ever again, at least not in a classroom context. Teenagers in school groups are mean, spiteful, obnoxious and crafty little buggers, and I’m just not cut out for teaching them. End of. Nothing personal…). I’m told these students are motivated, and polite, and respectful, and eager to learn. I guess we’ll find out how I get on in April when I start teaching in earnest – for now I am preparing, observing, and praying for a huge dose of peace and supernatural, God-given confidence. The company I’m working for seem to be extremely supportive, encouraging, and very laid back in their approach. Just what the doctor ordered.

Needless to say it’s pretty intense, emotionally, as well as physically, as my routine radically changes from a fairly sedentary stay-at-home existence to a progressively more active, working lifestyle. I have been praying for this to happen for years, and it’s finally starting to happen. I’m excited and exhilarated but to be honest, I am also exhausted by the transition. And this is rapidly turning into an exercise to see how many more verbs beginning with ex- can I use in one sentence.

Incidentally while we’re on that subject, what does “exhaustipated” mean?
It’s when you’re too tired to give a shit.

Sorry.

So today I am having the day off. I’ve cleared my diary, have decided to see no-one and go nowhere except for the obligatory drop off and pick up at the school gate – and a walk with the dog at a nearby country park. Time ALONE with God. Long overdue, much needed time out. It feels good.

I’ve had a proper home made coffee. Well, latte, to be precise.
I know. Get me.
Did some drawing.
Cleaned my kitchen whilst listening to some godly stuff on podcast.
Played with my dog.

Oh, and I found flowers.

First, camellias – how can I ever get bored of camellias?!
